[edit]- 1841 – The first section of the Bristol and Exeter Railway's main line is opened between Bristol and Bridgwater.[1][2]
- 1873 – The Denver, South Park and Pacific Railway is reorganized with greater capital as the Denver, South Park and Pacific Railroad.
20th century
[edit]- 1901 – The Atlantic City Railroad (predecessor of the Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines) is incorporated from the merger of the Camden County Railroad, Ocean City Railroad and Seacoast Railroad.
- 1936 – The M-10004 streamliner trainset enters service on the City of San Francisco passenger train.
- 1959 – The Disneyland Monorail System, in Anaheim, California, opens, becoming the first daily operating monorail in the western hemisphere.
