Politics

[edit]

Should something be mentioned about the band's politics. They appeared on two benefits for AK Press (an anarchist bookstore) and some of their lyrics have political content. I'm not gonna do anything because I'm not all that familiar with Pitchshifter, but it's just something to keep in mind. Tomorrowsashes 01:55, 19 Oct 2004 (UTC) I was just at the band's website and it said they are active, not dissolved

Murderd2death I definately think there should be a section about there politically driven lyrics. I remember reading somewhere on there website (can't seem to find it now though) about J.S. Clayden being punched in the face by a right winger for making "anti-fascist" comments, that kind of confirms that they're politicly driven.

The Album Infotainment, which is right next to www.pitchshifter.com at the apex of their career is very politically minded. It also is scathing social commentry well woven into the sound and brutally honest. The next tow albums they released where still politically minded but much less of a raw way on many levels.

[edit]

The link for the desensitized album incorrectly links to an album by Drowning pool of the same name. I've not changed it because I don't really know too much about the workings of wikipedia so don't know what I should call the page link, or if the Desensitized page should have a disambiguation page or whatever

Welcome! After looking at a few other pages, I've gone and made it into a disambiguation page. If you've got any infomration on the album, now would be a good time to add it. SeventyThree(Talk) 06:21, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Pitchshifter band phot

[edit]

can we add this to the pitchshifter page as one of those photo's you see on the side depicting the band http://www.pitchshifter.com/v4/V4Assets/gallery/PressShot2Zoom.jpg

Grindcore Genre?!?!?!

[edit]

Who keeps adding that Pitchshifter was once a grindcore band? Who ever has been doing that obviously doesn't even know what the hell grindcore is, and Pitchshifter was NEVER grindcore. The same issue keeps happening with the Godflesh page, where someone keeps adding they once were grindcore. They were signed to a label called Grind Core records with their "Industrial" album but that doesn't mean anything about the genre or above all what the band used to play back in their days.

Desensitized is definitely grindcore album!

Missed Album ?

[edit]

what about the 1998 - W.Y.S.i.W.Y.G. [What You See is What You Get] album ?. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nachomanco (talkcontribs) 17:28, 16 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Discography

[edit]

The use of album covers in a discography list is not considered fair use based on points 3a and 8 of Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria. I have removed those images from this article twice now. ~ BigrTex 15:19, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nu metal????, pop rock????

[edit]

Pitchshifter do not became nu metal or pop rock! Pitchshifter recent playing pop punk (or maybe skate punk), not pop rock or nu metal.

Prodigy influence

[edit]

Surely deserves a prominent mention as one of the bands biggest influences. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Perry Groves (talkcontribs) 09:25, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Early Industrial?

[edit]
I don't really see how this group could be called an early industrial band, that genera particularily in its heavier form owes more to bands like Ministry and KMFDM who where doing there thing many years before pitchshifter. Awesome band though —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.237.116.192 (talk) 01:08, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Like it or not they were one of the earliest industrial metal bands. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.107.129.132 (talk) 21:12, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

www.pitchshifter.com

[edit]

Someone needs to figure out how to list the album "www.pitchshifter.com" so that it doesn't go out to the actual domain (which is currently up for sale). Volunteers? TrainTracking1 (talk) 06:03, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
