Talk:Non-recognized nations
Kurdistan is different from the others, as there is no claim of sovereignty. There were several movements in Turkey, and there is a de-facto autonomy within Iraq.
Dixie doesn't belong here, the "Declaration of Southern Cultural Independence" speaks of the southern states not as a sperate nation but "that (Southerners) are a separate and distinct people, with an honorable heritage and culture worthy of protection and preservation." It states that the goal of the document is to "attempt to preserve Southern language, speech, manners, music, literature, tradition, custom, and faith, (they) pledge to cooperate economically to build and sustain our separate educational and cultural institutions." And besides the convention had fewer than 4000 participants, sounds more like rable rousers than a true independance movement... horatio86
To avoid a 3RR violation, I'm making a case against Horatio86 here regarding his additions of Cascadia and Riparian State of the Colorado. The article on Cascadia is not sourced and is largely disputed. Due to that, it doesn't deserve mention here until/unless that dispute is resolved. Riparian State of the Colorado is currently on VFD as it does not exist. Things that don't exist certainly don't merit mention here, either. Soltak 23:46, 18 August 2005 (UTC)
