KANU leadership split
[edit]User:Everyking noted the BBC article on the KANU leadership split, and noted, "if we assume this is conclusive, we should update the intro, but i don't know".
I don't know, either, but it does seem likely that things are happening and (not knowing the rhythms of Kenyan politics terribly well,) there may be some resolutions soon: Biwott and Kenyatta reach some kind of agreement about KANU, or KANU splits and a fraction including Kenyatta join ODP, or something else I haven't thought of. But isn't there a tag we can put at the top of the page, something like {{ Current-related|topic }}? Let me see if I can figure that out... --Pjmorse 14:50, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Tone of the article
[edit]I flagged this for its lack of neutrality. The entire page is full of totally biased language and information. For example: "Little did Uhuru know that President Moi was still intent on propelling him onto the national political scene." (no citation); "Since he joined Moi's inner circle, Uhuru Kenyatta has been fighting to prove that he is his own man and not Moi's stooge." (no citation); "Uhuru Kenyatta's use of social media has endeared him to the tech savvy community in Kenya who know that to reach him, he is just a tweet away." It also goes on about the various reform programs he apparently instituted -- very lengthy, full of unnecessary details and seemingly written to just highlight his apparent successes. The 'National Alliance Party' section appears to include language taken straight from a campaign speech.
Also, the language used to address his indictment for crimes against humanity (in the 'controversies' section) is very obviously meant to just gloss over the issue. Needs to be discussed in a more neutral way. Debaser583 (talk) 11:30, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Pictorial
[edit]The pictorial showing wrong as it includes another face on it. Please change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.202.250.242 (talk) 13:22, 2 April 2013 (UTC) Please change the picture for His excellency the president. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.204.186.122 (talk) 17:04, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
Who is Francis Kinyanjui of Gatundu?
[edit]"He was a great friend of Francis Kinyanjui of Gatundu." Why is this relevant? On Wikipedia, there is no other mention of Francis Kinyanjui, not of Gatundu nor of any other place. --82.131.25.105 (talk) 19:42, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
Education
[edit]Various sources have cited Amherst College as the Uhuru Kenyatta's alma mater. But according to the Uhuru Kenyatta's official facebook page[1] and linkedin[2], the University of Massachusetts at Amherst is Uhuru's alma mater. The confusion between Amherst College and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst is common. Both are located in the state of Massachusetts but the former is a private liberal arts college while the University of Massachusetts at Amherst is a public research university.
Reply on issue of Alma Mater
[edit]Evidence points to the fact that Uhuru Kenyatta attended Amherst College rather than UMass. Uhuru Kenyatta's facebook page is run by his campaign media team who may have mistaken the two institutions as stated. However, the institutions would not make errors as to who attended their universities. Whereas the University of Massachusetts does not mention Uhuru (a President) as an alumni, Amherst College has several references to this. [3] [4] [5] Several reliable media outlets further hold that he is an alumnus of Amherst College. [6] [7] [8]The official government website of the Kenya Presidency also states that he studied at the college. [9] SamuelinNairobi (talk) 07:42, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

Surname origin
[edit]Mention why his surname is almost the same word as the country name, or if pure coincidence. Jidanni (talk) 12:07, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
- The word "Kenyatta" is the name of a beaded belt and became Jomo's nick-name, as he wore one. The similarity with the name of the country is due to chance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.147.175.160 (talk) 17:14, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
The word "Kenya" is a Swahili form of the Kamba word for Mount Kenya. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.147.175.160 (talk) 17:17, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

List of Trips by Uhuru Kenyatta
[edit]Was wondering if we should make a page for Uhuru Kenyatta similar to that of the Indian prime minister. List of prime ministerial trips made by Narendra Modi. If I get a green light from a few people I think I could start drawing it up. Sputink (talk) 18:31, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Lead section
[edit]The lead section presently consists of three paragraphs. Three quarters of it is dedicated to the events surrounding Kenyatta's re-election in 2017. I think the lead section should give a short general overview of Kenyatta's life and career (perhaps including some information not presently there, like his first election and the ICC), the details about the re-election could be moved to one of the other sections. Bever (talk) 00:34, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
- Indeed it might be more appropriate if the lead section covered much more on his life and background than just one event. Thelost byte (talk) 08:53, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
