[edit]Is it really as simple as this? I can't see myself ever betting without the top card... the game might be more interesting with blinds or antes, raises, and whatnot... Evercat 16:08, 11 May 2005 (UTC)
Also, what does it mean to "win" the round when there's been no betting? No betting means no money means no "win"... :-) Evercat 16:10, 11 May 2005 (UTC)
- There is an ante --Henrygb 11:38, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
So what is the winning strategy?
[edit]Would be great if the article could also outline this only winning strategy, instead of just stating the rules. --Pgallert (talk) 09:34, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
So ....
[edit]Do the players understand the composition of the deck? Whether or not this factor is explained to them makes an enormous difference, as a player unaware that the only cards in the deck are J, Q, and K might be dealt K (unbeatable) and then incorrectly assume that the other player might hold an Ace, causing the player holding K to lose. Or have I completely missed the point? 74.131.53.1 (talk) 19:28, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
- You have missed the point. The players understand the game, the deck and the rules. So there are obvious strategies: never fold with a King, and never call with a Jack. If you are sure your opponent understands that, then always raise second with a King and never raise second with a Queen. And so on. --86.178.49.216 (talk) 08:32, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
