Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tick removal
Tick removal was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was TRANSWIKI AND DELETE
Was marked for speedy, but isn't a candidate AIUI, so I'm putting it on VfD. This is a how-to, not an encyclopedia article. Transwiki to Wikibooks (if they'll take it) and delete. — Gwalla | Talk 23:41, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Transwiki to Wikibooks and delete. (We were big believers in a hot needle to the tick's head, or just ripping it in half and then digging the head out with a pocket knife. Real men, you know.) Geogre 01:52, 26 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Delete I disagree with Gwalla that it is not a candidate for speedy deletion. It will have the same problems in Wikibooks. I do not want to spoil hard work but the suggestions in the article are in many cases over the top and unhelpful. It would be impossible for me to edit said article without filling it full of contradictions, though the article contains good bits. Personally killing hundreds of ticks a day because the drugs don't work; they don't sell Frontline here in Honduras. A dead tick is always better than a live one. None of my dogs has ever been infected by a stuck head, nor indeed have I ever seen a stuck head. What hurts for the animal is pulling them out. Life in the Third world. This article feels only relevant to life in the First World.--Scuiqui fox 14:25, 26 Oct 2004 (UTC)
