Recording Personnel
[edit]Can someone check these. I've made an attempt to correct the Personnel section, which seemed to have been directly copied from another Talking Heads album. habiloid (talk) 07:45, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Robert Christgau's review
[edit]Is this guy for real? With comparisons to Yes, and statements like "the irony is that he's not being ironic" or "every self-help homily [is] contextualized dramatically", it's too bizarro to be taken seriously, and too lacking in humor to be taken as a joke. --Register allocation 01:44, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Album title format: computer code release
[edit]I haven't figured out how to include the format of the album title into the article without having it be all original research, and I can't find a source for it. But in 1977 the title format was obviously based on the naming format for computer programs at the time; like for example: FORTRAN 77. The album title is similarly printed in all capital letters, followed by the two digit year of release (pre-y2k, naming conventions). This was then, and may yet be, either so obvious to those familiar with computers at the time, or so esoteric to everyone else, as to go without explanation. In the same way that referring to anything as 1.0 or 2.0, etc. would presently go without explanation; with the notable difference that a much smaller percentage of the public was then familiar with any aspect of computer code. However, as time passes, the cultural reference may be lost. - Michael J Swassing (talk) 01:07, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- On further consideration of the significance of the title format, I would like to recommend changing the article title from "Talking Heads: 77" to "TALKING HEADS: 77" - Michael J Swassing (talk) 01:26, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- I would feel more comfortable if we had a reliable source that supported the use of capital letters. Neither the band's quasi-official website nor David Byrne's website use capitals. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 02:20, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- I totally agree that a reliable source is needed to make the connection in any way, and I do not recall ever reading anything of the nature. Nothing urgent in the suggestion, just something to look into when somebody finds the time. - Michael J Swassing (talk) 02:31, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Other musicians?
[edit]After all these years (34 in fact), still no information on other musicians - e.g. sax and marimba on First Week, Last Week? Startling. Dr.O.Farr-Kinnel (talk) 21:07, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
