The result of the debate was was to delete the page. —Ben Brockert (42) 03:18, Jan 8, 2005 (UTC)
More Star Wars trivia. The article says this vehicle was briefly seen in the left corner of the screen during a few seconds of one of the movies. --BM 16:30, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Delete, too obscure to even be worth merging anywhere. Rje 16:40, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Am I to understand that every single time a trivia item is given it´s own entry on Wikipedia, it must be of a certain length or reasonably well-known? VT-16 18:08, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- It will save trouble if you follow that principle, even though there's a lot of stuff around that contradicts it. Kappa 19:15, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. The reason I ask is because I´m interested in adding to already established SW-lore (especially movie-wise), and if I find obscure info that´s relevant to well-established facts, I feel like adding it. However, since there seems to be a problem, I could just collect certain smaller entries into larger "misc"-entries to save space. :) 84.202.32.248 19:40, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- At a minimum, you'll probably be visiting VfD a lot less if you focus on collective articles about fictional topics which very little can be said about. For precedents/ideas, see The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time weapons and items, Weapons of Star Trek, or List of female hobbits, for example--many were submitted as individual articles, posted here (VfD), then assembled into these articles. - Keep, or possibly merge, personal POV over whether one would like this information to be in a small encyclopædia is irrelevant; this listing does not seem to have been made on grounds in line with policy. James F. (talk) 02:16, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. This seems suspect. This is most likely referring to either the Atgar 1.4 FD P-Tower or the Golan Arms DF.9 both of which are described in numerous West End Game supplements. It may be that someone just saw the "gun wagon" in the movie and decided to make up a page for it without knowing too much about the subject. I am taking the liberty of deleting its entry on the page it currently is redirected too on these grounds and moving the information back to the gun wagon page proper until the conclusion of this vfd. - Delete per Indrian's findings challenging the verifiability of this information. Rossami (talk) 06:30, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- The vehicle in question is neither the P-Tower (dish-shaped artillery) nor the DF.9 (white gun-tower), it is a separate object seen inside the rebel hangar in ESB and is dark grey in color. There is an article on T-Bone´s SW site that has more information and pics of the "wagon": http://www.starwarz.com/tbone/cut_scenes/ep5/luke_gunner.htm
Now, I´m taking the liberty of putting it back up with the other misc. vehicles in their own section. You can of course delete it´s separate page.
I´ll also keep several items under one post the next time I write about more obscure objects. VT-16 12:37, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Ok. Looking at that picture, I agree that this is something different that has not been discussed in any product I am aware of. I still feel that since this object has essentially been expunged from the movies (apart from the brief glimpse at the gates) that giving it an article is imporper since anything written about it would be "original research" in a manner of speaking. A brief mention of the weapon in a section on deleted scenes in Empire would seem more appropriate. Indrian 23:18, Dec 30, 2004 (UTC)
