From the article:

Although a spinoff of the blockbuster 1978 Richard Donner film, the animated series chose to tell its own version of the Superman legend by starting from scratch, beginning with the pilot episode "Last Son Of Krypton" (which retold Superman's origin).

In what way is the television series a spin-off from the movie? They're separated by twenty years and have no cast or crew in common that I'm aware of. If the series is a spin-off from anything other than the comic books, it's Batman: The Animated Series. —Paul A 01:59, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC)

It should be noted that the Brainiac Attacks movie does not use all of the same voice actors. -GabrielNYC

Legacy would come back to haunt him in the second and third season of Justice League Unlimited. There should be a distinction made, the events come back to haunt him in the first season of Justice League Unlimited and a little bit in the second season of Justice League. Not sure how to handle this... --tony —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.88.77.247 (talk) 17:27, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Animated Series

[edit]

If the official title of the series is simply "Superman" shouldn't the article go by that title? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.253.64.213 (talk) 23:26, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

...boy the art in these is horrible. I would love to know something baotu whatever animation sweatshops WB uses. 72.49.111.111 (talk) 18:45, 18 December 2010 (UTC)Ubiquitousnewt[reply]

Point well taken. Furthermore, there was no on-screen title at all. Like sibling series Batman: The Animated Series on the Fox network a few years earlier, there was nothing but a montage of images for the opening "titles" until it merged with the Batman episodes into a combination-titled one-hour show. Admittedly, this article would have to have "1990s TV cartoons," "WB network cartoons" or something of the sort in parentheses, but it would then bear the "official" title outside them. Anybody else? --Ted Watson (talk) 21:34, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This show on Disney XD? Why?

[edit]

Am I the only one who is bothered by the fact that this show, along with two other DCAU shows and Pinky and the Brain, is being put on Disney XD, a network that is owned by Disney?! Surely I'm not the only one who hasn't forgotten that The Walt Disney Company and Warner Bros. are bitter enemies! --74.167.107.134 (talk) 00:39, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Bitter enemies"? First I've heard that, and these Warner shows being on a Disney channel works against that. Disney XD, BTW, is not a new channel, as the article claims, but a retitling (reformatting?) of Toon Disney. These shows and many others had been running on TD for some time. XD just doesn't look all that different from TD. --Ted Watson (talk) 21:39, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
