Are there any documented uses of V24 engines? That would be helpful in expanding this page. Istewart 00:30, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- According to [1] and [2] one was planned for the fall 2002 Maybach. A prototype was made, but it was too loud. More info (and pictures) at http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/speedway/5350/maybach.htm // Liftarn
V24 is the name of a one design Offshore Powerboat. The V24 was designed by Occe Mannerfeld, and is called V24 not for the engine configuration, which is a V8, but for the length of the hull, which is 24 foot long, and is a 'V' bottomed hull. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.151.156.187 (talk) 18:16, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
From wikipedia: " The novel solution was to couple two AS.5 engines in tandem to produce a V-24 with each engine independently driving one of a pair of contra-rotating propellers through co-axial shafts."
so the sentence "but the output shaft was shared." in this article is misleading as in fact both engine had their own independent shafts …
