Sheriff just changed. Steube did not run for re-election and Steube's predecessor's son Rick Wells is now sheriff as a Republican— Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.117.68.158 (talk) 19:10, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Counties standards might help.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Rambot (talkcontribs) 22:21, 26 July 2003 (UTC)[reply]

Manatee County has a plug-in hybrid schoolbus. Maybe this is part of some larger campaign that could be written about. Just an idea.

Fair use rationale for File:Manatee County Fl Seal.png

[edit]

File:Manatee County Fl Seal.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:36, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article Reorganization

[edit]

I feel like this article could use a organizational overhaul and I'm happy to help. To start, I've been working on this history but also took a peek at the demographics. Is there a reason to keep previous census' data in there? Or can I update the demographics with information from 2020 census and remove everything else? I'll leave this here on the talk page for a couple days and if I don't hear any objections, I will remove references to 2000 and 2010 census as it seems unhelpful in the demographics section.Amscheip (talk) 23:38, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Amscheip: (I have moved this section to the bottom of the page per WP:TPNEW.) It is customary to keep only the demographic breakdowns from the most recent decennial census. - Donald Albury 00:13, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @Donald Albury! As always, I appreciate the knowledge. Amscheip (talk) 02:08, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Utilities

[edit]

@83d40m I removed the section initially (followed by Magnolia677) because it's a routine article that was also mentioned last summer and the article mentions it's routine. The info could be incorporated better in Lake Manatee to mention this phenomenon. The information on stating what citizens should do is non-encyclopedia (Wikipedia is not a guide) – The Grid (talk) 13:13, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay — thank you for the explanation. Was concerned that it was suppression of information that could be useful to readers. Lots of information "fires" raging in that region, didn't want this to be collateral damage by some pollitically motivated edit. 83d40m (talk) 16:49, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
