Do all of the novels really need to be linked? Of the few links for which there are actually articles, none refer to these novels. I'm going to de-link for now, except for the film that actually refers to one of these books. Brenton 05:39, May 28, 2005 (UTC)

Copied! (but I don't care)

[edit]

Hehehe, I was casually browsing through the Wikipedia and found this article, which is a copy of an article I wrote for Everything2 back in the day (you can see it at http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=683620 ).

Don't worry, I don't mind; I'm actually honoured to be a contributor to the Wikipedia in a way :) I also appreciate and like the improvements to my original article.

Just wanted to share this bit of trivia with everyone; coincidentally, the article was copied into the Wikipedia on my birthday :)

In one of the early novels (The Mourner?), Parker does think about his life before "The Hunter" - that he got his first gunshot wound while driving a truck of stolen tires from an Army base in England, and that he earned a BCD (Bad Conduct Discharge) from the Army. 02:35, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Darwyn Cooke comics adaptation

[edit]

There should be a mention that Darwyn Cooke was supposed to be adapting the series into graphic form. However, with the death of Westlake, those plans could be suspended.Rickremember (talk) 03:04, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ethical principles?

[edit]

This entry states: "[Parker] does, however, live by one ethical principle: he will not double-cross another professional criminal with whom he is working, unless they try to double-cross him."

In fact, Chapter 6 of The Hunter/Point Blank (p. 42 in my edition) states: "Parker intended to take Mal's slice, too, which would give him a total of forty-five thousand — fifty percent of the take. That was the way it should be.... Parker planned on getting rid of Mal that night, but he hadn't counted on a double-cross, not one involving his wife."

So much for having "one ethical principle." In fact, Parker intended to double-cross (and kill) Mal, the fellow had who brought him in on the heist; it's just that Mal — along with Parker's wife Lynn — double-crossed Parker first. NicholasNotabene (talk) 22:26, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

How many killings?

[edit]

Has anyone ever counted how many people Parker has killed? 80.4.223.173 (talk) 10:53, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
