Sprague
[edit]Could someone fill me in on the "former Sprague Memorial Library"? What happened to it and when? --jpgordon::==( o ) 00:51, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- The building was repurposed. The first floor is now a "learning center" with computers, desks, and a little classroom space. — xDanielx T/C\R 06:14, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
Sean Plott
[edit]There's a large list of alumni from the college. The ones listed on the "notable alumni" section of this page should be the highlights of the full list. Sean Plott isn't an alumni that should be included here, Plott is hardly the most notable of the alumni. Thoughts? tedder (talk) 22:21, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
Commencement Speakers
[edit]There's an error in the list of commencement speakers, but I don't have enough sources to correct it. Sandra Kurtzig was the speaker in 1989 (my class), not 1990. I don't know if '89 and '90 are simply reversed or if there are more names miss-paired with the years. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.207.115.139 (talk) 15:16, 16 February 2016 (UTC)

Missing history section
[edit]This seems like it would be useful; would anyone be interested in adding it? It could also include notable controversies, such as the recent Wabash report leak. Sdkb (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 07:31, 12 February 2018 (UTC)

Northernmost dorm
[edit]The article currently says "To this day, "South" dorm is the northernmost HMC dorm" (Harvey Mudd College#Dormitories) which is a cute sentiment, but I would argue is not technically true. South's northernmost point is at latitude 34.1065643, while Sontag's northernmost point is at 34.1065805 and Drinkward's northernmost point is at 34.1065779. So technically Sontag is now the northernmost dorm, and has been so for a while. Meowshale (talk) 16:39, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
- All of this is original research, so ideally we'd be supporting it with references, but considering the current state of the article and ignoring the rules, the northermost dorm stuff seems like info we should have in there. (If this were a higher-quality article, I'd suggest putting it in a footnote, the same way I did for clarifying the Clark dorm numbering at Pomona.) The cleanest way to resolve it seems to be to just say North is the "northermost dorm of the quad" or similar, rather than claiming northernmost of the entire college. Feel free to go ahead and boldly make that change, Meowshale. And a big trout to the Sontag/Drinkward architects for ignoring the importance of college lore in their building site choices. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 17:04, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
