Do we need all three of "also known as Messier Object 61, Messier 61, M61"? That much bold text in the first sentence is visually confusing; I'd like it to be:

Spiral Galaxy M61 (also known as Messier Object 61 or NGC 4303) is a large spiral galaxy ...

Since the other forms are just short forms of Messier Object 61. [[User:Sverdrup|Sverdrup❞]] 14:31, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)

@El C: In the "Properties " section there are four sentences that very closly matches the text that appears in "Atlas of the Messier Objects: Highlights of the Deep Sky" (2008) By Ronald Stoyan, Stefan Binnewies, Susanne Friedrich (2) for M61 pg.230 under the heading "Astrophysics." Even the order of the text in question follows each other.

I.e. "This object is associated with a young, massive star cluster with a mass 100,000 times the one of the Sun, a radius of 3.1 parsecs and an age of 4 million years." and the book says: "...that this active core is in close co-existence, within just 10 light-years, with a young super star cluster (SSC) of 100,000 solar masses and only 4 million years of age." (All before my recent edits here. [1])

It was added by U-95 here [2] on 19th April 2013. (Similar problems exist with M86 and pg.292, but his other Messier objects are not so clear.) Due to this, I have had to remove it, even though the references seemngly differ (reverse engineered?) Arianewiki1 (talk) 07:13, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. Thanks for noticing and removing that. El_C 16:08, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It's actually a translation of the Spanish wikipedia article that has been around since 2009: [3]. Never mind, I'll try to rephrase that and same for the M86 article you mention. --U-95 (talk) 21:40, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bad useful sentence.

[edit]

I have removed the following from the end of 2nd paragraph: “From the picture one "Messier" Red dots, which located almost outside of the dusty area their ages are less than 3 million year.” It is not clear what it means, it is certainly not grammatical, it’s punctuation is problematic - but it may contain some useful content, if anyone can determine what the author meant to say.
