Would it be appropriate

[edit]

to add WPians with Wikipedia Holidays named for them to List of people by name? --Jerzy 22:01, 2004 Jan 30 (UTC)

IMO, No. These people are only famous inside our little world here. --mav 22:41, 30 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Will there be any more?

[edit]

Is Jimbo going to declare a new holiday this year? I haven't heard anything about one... --WCQuidditch 21:17, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Still don't know if there will be new ones, although we now know it won't be in 2005... --WCQuidditch 19:08, 1 January 2006 (UTC) (there's the reason 2005 had none -- 2006 already!)[reply]

Pomp and Circumstance

[edit]

Can I declare Feb. 30, 2018 the official "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WIKIPEDIA" day? --—Preceding unsigned comment added by Harvardgraduate1987 (talkcontribs)

WHOOOOOYES, but it won't have the same authority as a Jimbo declaration. So you'll only be able to publicize it on your userspace, not here. Lenoxus " * " 17:36, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia Day

[edit]

I think we should declare a wikiholiday on 20 June to mark the anniversary of the Wikimedia Foundation's birth. the wub "?!" 23:05, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree with you. -- Felipe Aira 09:10, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

talk like a pirate day

[edit]

Where is the International Talk Like a Pirate Day celebration? (September 19) I remember admins at ANI following it this last year --Enric Naval (talk) 16:28, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So I wonder if Jimbo will make WP:NODRAMA an official Wiki-holiday.. he sure was in favor of it, and it was quite a success. -- œ 17:25, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Wikipedia holidaysWikipedia:Order of the Day – Although this page evidently does include the list section headlined as "Wikipedia holidays", the phenomena at large as such has clearly been referred to as the Order of the Day long before I ventured into it to improve the article. Chicbyaccident (talk) 23:24, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It was literally mentioned nowhere on the page before you added it? I'm confused. ~ Rob13Talk 23:59, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Please see here on the contextual awards list. However, I'm pretty confident I have seen it referenced as such also elsewhere. Anyway, Jimbo is alerted and hopefully he might weight in in order to acclaim or reject the name that has been priorly attributed to it. Chicbyaccident (talk) 00:06, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
What is that thibg called? You know, it is blank, and white in the beginning, then it a person paints on it. I forgot. :-/

  • Oppose, Wikipedia holidays is understandable, concise, and fits the title criteria at the article title policy which is highlighting on all RM templates. "Order of the Day" doesn't, by itself, offer a concise description, unless it actually is the proper and accepted name of the individually-bestowed honor. • Oppose per Randy Kryn, and 1/2 per BU Rob13. —usernamekiran(talk) 07:27, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
