Redirect to Genocide? RickK 08:15, Aug 24, 2004 (UTC)
This does not require redirection to Genocide as it is a seperate concept altogether, and is considered this by World Genocide Scholars - Evolver of Borg
- What on Earth is a 'World Genocide Scholar'? If this term is used by the UN or International Court of Human Rights, then a cite of such use is sufficient to warrant a keep. If not, delete. Average Earthman 11:29, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Seems fine to me. Keep. -- Necrothesp 12:27, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Mispelled title. If you keep it, move it. Gdr 18:43, 2004 Aug 24 (UTC)
- Delete - Genocide is genocide despite the phrase creation by a scholar. - Tεxτurε 20:29, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Actually, I got the impression that the scholar who coined the term was the scholar who created the category of genocide itself. Geogre 01:19, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. I think it's a distinction with difference; a killing/massacre that is specifically aimed at a type of person (genus) that is not part of a campaign of total type destruction. Doesn't seem like advocacy here. Geogre 01:19, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect to genocide: an important distinction but not one that demands a article of its own. -Sean Curtin 03:33, Aug 25, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Dmn / Դմն 17:11, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)
The World Genocide Scholars are a group of PhDs who have done an extensive amount of work on individual genocides, this including my Genocide Studies teacher Dr Paul Bartrop. You will see individual scholars on documentaries regarding genocide, usually taken at the conferences they have. And no, although Kuper knew Lemkin, it was Kuper that made the distinction between Genocidal Massacre and straight out genocide - Evolver of Borg — Preceding unsigned comment added by The Prince Manifest (talk • contribs) 09:11, 25 August 2004 (UTC)
To make another point, all those who have studied at UCLA prior to his death in 1994 will know of Kuper, as he taught there after he left Apartheidist South Africa in the 1970s - Evolver of Borg — Preceding unsigned comment added by The Prince Manifest (talk • contribs) 09:11, 25 August 2004 (UTC)
