User talk:Janet Dayton
To the Administrators of Wikipedia:
I am going to make the basic assumption that people who log in to Wikipedia from public computers are welcome. If they are not, please state it on the Main Page so that the public accessing this site will know.
It has taken me a little while to piece things together but I find the conduct of User:JohnOwens totally unacceptable and a direct personal affront to both me and others on his User:JohnOwens:Most Wanted. This type of list is unacceptable conduct and is a frightening turn-off for potential Wikipedia users. It is even more intimidating particularly because it is by someone who is supposed to act in a dignified and proper manner after being accepted as a Wikipedia Administrator. I came to Wikipedia to contribute after a friend told me about this website and because I was cautioned, I only observed for a while when I saw User:Zoe criticize contributors repeatedly for no real just cause. As such my first and only contribution was to tell User:Zoe that I did not like her behavior. As a result of my polite but accurate comments, Wikipedia Administrator JohnOwens added me to a “hit” list. What kind of place is this that people are treated in such a manner? Am I not allowed to politely tell someone that if I contribute here I do not want to be abused. And, why didn’t User:JohnOwens add User:Brion VIBBER to his hit list after he had already warned User:Zoe about her abusive conduct as per the following:

- Also, could you please not IP-ban longtime off-and-on contributors for responding grumpily to a concerted campaign of removing information they're trying to add to an article they've just written? That comes awfully close to abuse of sysop powers, particularly when done without notice. I've unbanned 209.234.79.205. – User:Brion VIBBER 05:37 Mar 30, 2003 (UTC)
Also, please see the comments by User:Brion VIBBER regarding the inappropriate conduct of User:Zoe on User talk:Zoe/archive 9.
Several months ago my husband quit this site as a result of the conduct of certain people. Please advise what action will be taken on this matter starting with the deletion of the offensive page: User:JohnOwens:Most Wanted. Thank you.
- Uh - that is his user page not a policy page. It is for his use only. It is just a list and there is nothing patently offensive on it so if you don't like it then don't read it. From your above remarks it seems to me that you are DW's "wife" (wink). Both of these people have been banned from Wikipedia. --mav
- Thank you for your feedback, Janet. I will draw John Owen's attention to your comments.
Oh, please. This is DW, who has been banned at least twice now. Just ignore him. -- Zoe
